Regenerative braking?

Very interesting question. The Tekin 410K is more or less the industrialized production model of the Force mach 7. So I checked Tekin manual: "The 410K also features technology to that allows the batteries to be charged while braking. When applying brakes, the energy generated by the vehicle's motor is channeled back into the battery pack instead of simply wasting it” Furthermore, in the Tekin brochure from january 1992 is written that all ESCs available at the time had the regeneration and recharging operation included.

What does this suggest about the Purge Force?

(1) In 1991 it was state of the art to use the braking energy and not to waste it. It would be very surprising if an ESC made for the 1991 worlds did not have this feature.

(2) You can read rumors on the net that the series design of the 410K was changed by Tekin compared to the design that Noel Lovisa sold to Tekin, to save costs for patents or developer fees. If this is true, it may be that the Tekin differs from the Purge in terms of the regeneration concept. Or it has been modified to standardize components and assemblies within the Tekin product family.

There definitely were changes. The 410K doesn't have the exposed FETs that the Mach 7 has.

Yes, there are obvious differences between the mach 7 and the 410K. But history tells that when Kevin Orton (Tekin) saw the mach7, he hired its maker, Noel Lovisa, to develop something like it for Tekin. But there are rumors that the 410k didn't come to market the way Noel intended, but Kevin reworked the thing to his specs before it went into mass production. I'm interested in the differences between Noel's 410K and the mass production 410K. Well, I assume there is no documentation on prototypes of the 410K, so it will remain a secret. If you compare the keypads of the mach7 and 410K, you can see the relationship. The ENTER key is used to switch the 410K on and off. The designation has been changed from ON/ENTER (mach7) to OFF/ENTER. Who thought of this?
