Nice car...a lot of interesting parts. I did notice one thing that you may need to correct. If you will be using that hyperdrive pinion/spur combination, you may need to flip the motor plate on the other side of the car.

On a normal pinion/spur conbination, the pinion turns counter clockwise and the spur turns clockwise. With the hyper drive, both pinion and spur have to turn clockwise. The only way to do this in your current set up would be to run the motor in reverse polarity (unless that's a reverse rotation motor...usually used in dual motor monster trucks).

If that is not a reverse rotation motor, it's not a good idea to run the regular motor in reverse because it's not designed that way and if it's a stock motor, the timing will be way off.

If you decide to do this, it's very easy to do especially with the transmission on the car. What even makes it easier is that your motor plate is already modified for that application.

I like it. Especially the finned transmission brace.

wow that is cool set up, I remember seeing the hyperdrive adds and wondering if anyone really went for it. I always thought it looked cool. THe Finned motor plate is badass! And the red anodized bolts look trick. The motor heat sink reminds me of a hedgehog.

I still have my original hyperdrive setup in the toolbox. The belts are a bit worn though . I used it in both my RC-10 and my on-road car. The on-road was really quiet, all you heard was the motor. The only time I used it in my RC-10 was in-doors on the roller skating rink(good times), but I forget how it worked vs the gear setup.

Thanks Highwayracer,I would have been wondering why my car was down on power and more than likely never worked that out.I will swap over that motor plate before I even attemp to run it.I must admit I prob wont race with the hyper drive as I would have no gearing choice and cant imagine ever coming accross a lot of pinion pullies.Thank for all the positive comments guys.

I was able to dig out my hyperdrive setup from back in the day

i just noticed that has a team pit stop chain drive trans.

haha belt pinion to spur and a chain gearbox? Completely crazy.

What class you going to race in at the vintage meet?

Awesome stuff guys, I have some Hyperdrive parts new in bag but don't have a complete set. Can anyone help me make one up? Kenooze said he could help but I can't get a reply through pm's.

Thanks guys,heres some pics of my stock gold pan,Yestereday I stripped the paint and gave it a revamp with an old skool paint job,I am happy with the turn out.Does anyone else use Polly S easy off paint and decal remover?Ive read about allot of people using nitro.Ive had this stuff for atleast 10 years now and it works a treat.Any way,hope you enjoy the pics.
