This was the my first tamiya and first full rebuild. Blame this car for getting me addicted to vintage rc. It's a conglomeration of 3 different hornets. One for the chassis and gearbox internals, one for front suspension, and one for the gearbox housing and body. It's been through hell and back, submerged in mud and ice, launched of huge jumps at the local track, and bashed at the beach. It's held together with zip ties, brake clean, and wd40 at this point.

Be careful with brake cleaner (I havea Shimano Bantam with fingerprints in the plastic).Some types attack plastic. Electric contact cleaner is safer.

I know. The plastic under the motor is kinda weirdly textured from brakeclean. I'd never use it on a a model where looks are a priority.

I washed down a manta ray back in the early 90s with motor cleaner and it literally fell apart under its own weight as I was getting a battery charged for it oops
