XX CR Kinwald Edition - Released in 1998 as a special edition of the XX CR 1/10 2wd off-road buggy based on Brian Kinwald’s IFMAR winning buggy. 3-piece molded graphite composite plastic "G-Tunnel" chassis with graphite front bulkhead, chassis reinforcing upper brace, and battery strap. Graphite front a-arms with 25-degree camber blocks and kingpin ball studs. Bearing equipped turnbuckle/bellcrank steering with built in servo saver and Ackerman adjustable drag link. Graphite composite rear shock tower, revised fiberglass plate front shock tower and Hard Body, teflon coated, oil-filled aluminum coilovers with Titanium Nitride shafts and special “Blue” springs all around. Graphite rear h-arms with 0-degree rear hub carriers and a 3-degree rear pivot plate/support block. Laydown, ball diff, 2.19, 3-gear, transmission with aluminum top shaft, dual slipper clutch and MIP CVD axles. Dirt Shield wheels with Silver Compound X-2000 rear tires and Silver Compound Wide Body front tires. Blue anodized lock nuts, wing buttons and rear motor mount, full bearings, Lundsford Punisher titanium Turnbuckles, and new X-cellerator clear lexan body.
Switch Blade 10 – Introduced by Trinity in 1997 to replace its Evolution 1/10th scale race cars. Featured a new symmetrical graphite chassis with saddle pack battery mounts and graphite retaining plates, Radical Reactive Caster coil over kingpin front suspension and Trinity Triad coil over rear suspension with oil-filled aluminum bodied shocks. A graphite plate motor pod housed the ball differential equipped direct drive transmission with a graphite composite Super Tooth spur gear, graphite axle, and aluminum hubs. Full bearings and TRC wheels with green dot tires were included.
Street Weapon IWC - Released in 1998 as an “All In One” racing version of their Street Weapon 1/10th 4wd touring car and included all the parts used by David Spashett on his 1998 IFMAR winning car. Used a sealed, triple belt 4wd, lower a-arm/turnbuckle camber link independent suspension and relief cut graphite composite mini tub with front mounted motor. 0 and 10 degree bulkhead (included with the kit), graphite front a-arms and reversible 3 degree hub carriers offered 3, 7, or 13 degrees of caster. Graphite rear a-arms with revised 2.5 degree hubs and titanium turnbuckle camber links all around. Graphite shock towers front and rear supported oil-filled coilover shocks with hard anodized, threaded shock bodies, titanium nitride shafts and heavier springs. Steering was via bearing equipped bellcranks and titanium turnbuckles. 4wd system upgrades included low friction blue drive belts, new bearings in the differentials, and aluminum replacing steel for the lay shaft, rear dog bones, thrust washers and wheel nuts. Wide Track wheels with Losi LST S-01 blue compound slicks and Andy’s RC Products sourced Dodge Status clear lexan body were also included.
Switch Blade 12 David Spashett Edition – Released by Trinity in 1998 and included all of the upgrades used by David Spashett on his IFMAR championship Switch Blade 12, such as a stronger carbon fiber chassis with new front end geometry for a lower roll center, rearward biased saddle battery mounts cut into the chassis, symmetrical T-bar rear suspension with reposition shock for greater front-to-rear transfer, updated rear pod with lowered motor mount, new composite axle and purple anodized aluminum screws.
