RC10GT w/ OS 18TZ No Brakes

Post by Braydun »

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well and enjoying all the new re-releases! I'm currently running my custom GT with an OS Max 18TZ and having some serious issues.

The car is insane and when I had it running right, it was a blast! But after a few minutes the brakes were cooked. Attached is a YouTube video I made of it

To try to fix this I have:
Sanded brake shoe and bracket
New brake disc cam
New throttle/brake linkage set to factory
New Penguin RC carbon brake disc

Still no luck even with everything adjusted to the max. Now, I believe it to be more of a clutch issue because when I disassembled the clutch I found the bearings were shot and the holes on my MiP 4 in 1 clutch were stretched out and the whole thing was way out of shape.

Is this motor just too powerful? I had the same clutch setup on my 18CV-R, it ran great and pulled wheelies no problem. Is there a bigger clutch setup I could use to make the TZ work like the GT2 clutch? Thanks in advance!

The brakes are completely independent of the clutch and you should be able to test them even with the engine removed.

If you roll the car and manually push the brake lever do the brakes work? I think it would most likely be a set up issue.

A clutch problem would be that car would not idle if it was stopped, basically the engine would stall every time the wheels stopped.
