I just got this screwdriver from Costco. It has 3 torque settings from 1.5 Nm to 6 Nm. I haven't used it yet but I'm hoping it works well for RC duty. I've never used an electric screwdriver when working on RC stuff, but I have been wanting to try it. I hope it's not too powerful on the lowest setting.

Please share your electric screwdrivers that work well for RC duties.

I bought a Dewalt gyroscopic electric driver. It's some pretty cool tech. I mainly got it because I wanted a reliable clutch so I don't over tighten screws. Which the clutch does work great. I bought a cheep one on Amazon that had a clutch yet it didn't seem to work as I was able to drive a 2.5" screw right through a 2x4 with no clutch action. So rather than try again and potentially get the same result I bought the Dewalt. I really like it but it may be just a little too big for 10 th scale cars. It works fine 90% of the time but once in a while it's tough to get at some screws like for the shocks or something that points toward the front or back of the car. It doesn't help that the bits I have for it are long. Otherwise it is a great tool plus it's useful for more than rc and I got a good Amazon deal on a "used" one that appears like it was opened and returned.

A clutch sounds like a good idea. I don't think the one I just got has that. It may not be a great fit for RC use.

I love my DeWalt gyroscopic screwdriver and MIP hex bits. It feels like a necessity for builds, teardowns, and rebuilds. The variable speed/torque and direction are very intuitive. You get a sense of how hard the screws are being turned. I've had other electric screwdrivers in the past, but this is a quantum leap forward.

I also use the Dewalt Gyroscopic driver. I love it but find myself still hand wrenching most of the time.

I use the DeWalt gyroscope for teardown, especially when I wrench on the 1/5 scales. Honestly, I prefer a good MIP driver most of the time for reassembly, but with experience, you can get a feel for when the gyroscopic driver nears optimum tightness and allow it to turn in your hand to prevent stripping.
