Team Losi LX-T

Post by Dangeruss »

In 1992, after nearly four years of production, Team Losi replaced their JRx-T 1/10 2wd off-road race truck with a new model, the LX-T. Major pickup points and bolt hole locations would remain the same between the outgoing JRx-T and the new LX-T allowing racers the opportunity to upgrade their existing trucks to the latest spec with the Team Losi Nationals Conversion kit, which included all the parts from Losi's 1991 Nationals Prototype that were used in the new LX-T. This started with the same slim, long wheelbase, composite plastic chassis with bulkhead stiffening brace used on the JRx Pro SE. A concept that would continue with the longer composite plastic lower a-arms with turnbuckle camber links, as well as new caster and steering blocks. Longer composite plastic rear h-arms, turnbuckle camber links and hub carriers mirrored the theme of the front end in the rear. Revised composite shock towers front and back supported Team Losi's latest Hard Body oil-filled coilover shocks with adjustable spring collars and hard anodized teflon coated finish. The Losi ball-diff equipped Low Rotating Mass transmission with aluminum motor mount would carry over from the JRx-T but refined with more resilient high temp gears and updated slipper clutch designed to work in combination with Losi's new oil-filled Hydra-Drive traction control system. Longer telescoping driveshafts with universal joints fed power to new single piece 2.2 plastic truck wheels with clear lexan dust caps sporting 6-Row Spike tires in the rear and Ribbed tires up front, all turning on full bearings. The LX-T's body mounts allow for a super low clear lexan truck body to be fitted that allowed the shocks and towers to tuck up into the hood cowl and rear number plates. The LX-T was sold as an unassembled kit without electronics or radio:
