We're having a vintage race at Insanity Race Track at the end of October to close out their 2024 season. If you're within a couple hours drive, come on out!

Rules:
2wd - 1997 cutoff (RC10B3, Losi XX or older). Rear motor only. 17.5 blinky.

Stadium truck - 1997 cutoff (RC10T3, Losi XX-T and older). Rear motor only. 17.5 blinky.

4wd - Any Vonats legal 4wd buggy from both 4wd and classic 4wd classes (Losi XX-4, Kyosho Optima, etc.). 13.5 blinky.

2wd Y2K - Any rear motor buggy from 2000-present (RC10B4, RB10, Losi XXX,..). 17.5 blinky.

Trophies for the Top 3 in each class.

** AMBrc, MRT, or Mylaps 2 wire transponders ONLY. Mylaps 3 wire transponders WILL NOT WORK. **

Ok so my question is if you enter a reee 2wd buggy which class are you going for?

Rerelease? That would be the vintage class.


It's not the 'year' specifically, but the evolution in chassis and suspension. A rerelease falls in the pre 97 class aka vintage.

Putting a refresh on my old RC10T3 - I bought this truck new in 2002 (I think it was like a built roller??)
- If I recall correctly, it came built but without electronics and an unpainted body?
- Does that make any sense??
My memory might be off...

Is anyone from the board planning on attending that isn't on FB? I have a head count poll going in our FB group so I wondered.

Getting closer:

Cars are pretty much ready. Hopefully we get a nice turnout. If it goes well, maybe we can have a "Spring Fling" race so there's not such a huge gap to VONATS...

A big thanks to everyone that made it out to the RC10Talk.com Fall Brawl over the weekend. I had a good time, and I believe everyone else did also... minus the things that maybe didn't work out on track.

Shout out to Brian Lee the owner of Insanity Race Track for working with me to get a date on the schedule. His track has been there a few years, but this past April or May was the first I had heard of it. It's not a terribly long drive for me, so I had gone a few times on a Saturday or Sunday just to run my stuff and eventually ran a couple of RRLRC series races. I just loved the track and knew it would be a great place for a vintage race. Also want to that Brent Post for coming in and taking the role of race director.

Thanks to Nick DiVitto and Moto-Obscura for sponsoring the concourse event, and he also wanted to pick up the tab for all of the trophies! Another thanks to Noreida M. Diaz for getting them all unpackaged and set up for me on race day.

Another thanks goes out to Jason Ruona and Jconcepts for having Cameron Cullen of RRLRC come out to take some video and do some interview. You can check out some of his videos on the "RRLRC" YouTube channel.

In my typical fashion, I took almost no pictures. I know Daniel Diaz posted some that he took the other day. But if anyone has pics or videos, feel free to post them up. Reinaldo Vega has some of the videos he takes as he races posted up on his YouTube channel also, "doctormosfet".

And instead of creating another post, I'll go into my races. I ran my T3 in stadium truck. Qualified 3rd and finished 2nd. In Y2K 2wd buggy I raced my B3. Qualified 4th, was dead last with a lap or 2, and managed to work my way back to 3rd. In the 2wd class I raced one of my B1.5's. Qualified 2nd, had a horrible first half running at the back, but i was able to get back up to forth... a handful of seconds behind 3rd.

Overall, it was a great weekend. Looking forward to maybe having one in the spring of 2025.
