Soooooo.........been gone 10ish years.....family, kids blah blah. A track has opened up nearby with a bash night and a race night so time for a car.

Here we go......OIN build #2. For reference here is #1.

Starting with a crappy painted B stamp and truck nose plate and badly polished gold motor plate for about $100 off feebay(Canadian dollars). So like $60 USD Bead blasted and straight.

Those with a keen eye will notice the missing motor plate hole for stealth and the hole in the tub sidewall. Both will be addressed.

Question for the hive mind. RPM worlds 91 rear suspension or leave it. For reference, the track is a large clay track with fairly punishing jumps........so durability will be a concern.

Ok, chassis sides chopped, motor plate stealth hole drilled and tapped and nose plate trimmed. Coat of white paint applied and black oxide screws arrived. Transmission parts and bulkheads should be arriving shortly.

Tranny parts mostly arrived, bulkheads and rear arm mounts.

Tranny is JC racing products with a B6.1 gear diff.

Assembling the JC transmission ran into the first issue. Outdrive hitting the motor plate. Nothing a file cant solve.

Factory Works parts arrived:
A&L Steering kit
RPM towers for big bores
Battery box kit
6 gear gearbox brace

Progress!......no surprises. Printed a set of Nikis quadra arms in polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is inicredibly light and strong but I am a little worried how little they flex......the rear arm mounts are probably a weak point. The arms are super beefy. Problemo........the arm mounts interfere with the JC Racing gearbox.

I got the bulkhead all trimmed up and ran into problemo #3.......bulkhead contacting the arm mount locknuts. Fixed by removing some material from the bulkhead.......I know the #6 screws and locknuts on the arm mounts is overkill but I am really worried about those mounts breaking.

Problemo #4.....insufficient front travel. So the quardra arms have a bit too much material around the bulkhead mounting. Out comes the file.....Perfect!

OK......major problem. Has anyone had any issues with the re-re bulkheads? When the chassis is at rest(perfectly straight) the bulkhead holes don't align. I didn't really notice it untiI I installed the tranny brace because the bulkhead could flex independently from the tranny.
I have to flex the chassis to align the holes.........essentially running zero anti squat. Not really sure how to solve this........
I would be curious if anyone else has this issue. For reference, I am using a JC Racing products gearbox, Factory Works 6 gear tranny brace and re-re bulkhead.

In my mind theres 3 possible causes: The tranny brace is too short(easy to check with an original 6 gear brace), the holes on the JC gearbox are off or the re-re bulkhead is off(also unlikely). I think the most likely culprit is the JC gearbox pulling the bulkead off center.

It's just something that happens with the forum, seemingly at random. Not much you can do about it, honestly.

only thing I can suggest is loosening the bulkhead screws in the bottom of the chassis and the ones on the trans brace then trying to line up and tighten the side screws and see if that works. could be the transmission holes in the chassis aren't quite right and the brace is pulling the top of the bulkhead rearward.

I was wondering if the chassis was still straight in the rear? Know it's a dumb question but the can bend, also wondering if any of it could have anything to do with that trans case?

If I loosen the all the screws and clamp down the bulkhead so the chassis is flat and then if the gearbox holes don't line up then there's an issue with the JC gearbox. I will try that tomorrow.

The car is at work, I will have to check if it also bends with the tranny brace screws out but with the bulkhead screws out it is definitely straight. I suspect the JC gearbox is pulling the bulkhead off center.
