A pair of Traxxas advertisements spotlighting their new entry level RAD2 1/10 2wd off-road buggy and the HAWK2 1/10 2wd stadium truck, plus highlights of their growing retail empire:
HAWK2: Released in 1992 as an updated and lower cost replacement for the original Hawk truck, the new Hawk2 shared the same tub, front suspension arms, caster blocks, axles and other minor parts but added wider rear arms/camber links, fiberglass shock towers front and rear, ABS plastic oil-filled coilover shocks with longer versions up front, bellcrank steering and new 3 gear planetary transmission with the motor set low on the blue anodized aluminum motor mount. The truck rode on oilite bushings and the wheels, tires, and body were carried over. Available in both assembled and unassembled kits.
RAD2: Also released in 1992 as a successor to the Radicator, the RAD2 was a carbon copy of the HAWK2 stadium truck with the exception of buggy specific wheels, tires, and body - in both assembled and unassembled kits. With Blue Bird Model Mfg. Co. Ltd. of Tiawan still making vehicles for Traxxas the RAD2 would be exported by Blue Bird to France and sold by MRC as the VITTO as well as Germany & England where Graupner sold it as the Radicator. Both markets would offer an assembled base version, and an assembled "Expert" version with a Radicator graphite chassis, hard anodized shocks, bearings, and pink wheels.

Re: Traxxs RAD2 & HAWK2
I’ve got a soft spot for the Hawk 2, it was the first kit build I did all by myself. Naturally my original truck is long gone but about fifteen years ago I was luck enough to pick up a very nice clean barely used example

Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.
Hey Cru ! Go balls out
