In 1997 Team Associated introduced their newest 1/10th scale pan car, the RC10L2. Their first update to the RC10 pan car line since 1993 the L2 was underpinned by a new carbon fiber plate style chassis with saddle mounted battery cutouts and revised lightening voids. Associated's Dynamic Strut front suspension was carried over from the RC10LS but used a new composite nylon construction and aluminum front brace. Steering was handled by a centrally located Kimbrough style servo saver and threaded turnbuckles. In the rear the chassis was redesigned with a new adjustable t-bar holding an RC12LC derived motor pod for increased motor accessibility. Rear suspension action was controlled by a single Team style PTFE oil-filled aluminum bodied coil over shock and upper dampening plate. Transmission duties were handled by a direct drive 48-pitch pinion/spur gear with ball differential, graphite axle, aluminum hubs, and composite height adjusters. Associated green compound foam tires on black plastic wheels were provided as were full bearings, less body and electronics. Also available in an oval version the RC10L2O featured a unique chassis plate with wide left side battery cutouts and an oval specific graphite rear axle:
