Team Associated Team Shock Assembly Manual

Post by Dangeruss »

Introduced on the RC10 Team Car in 1991, the seals of the aptly named Team Shocks were loaded from inside the shock body instead of the previous RC10 Gold Shocks bottom loaded seals. The thread pitch on the Team Shocks was also finer than the original Rc10 Gold Shocks, a feature that would extend to later kits in which the Sport versions would receive gold anodized Team Shocks.

Interesting factoid... early Team Cars and the '91 Winter Championship RC10ST's had plastic shock caps, not aluminum like later production versions.

The use of green slime is highly recommended. While the RCPS variety is rare, AE still offers it as p/n 1105

In regards to the plastic caps, Kloeber's RC10T Prototype ’91 Florida Winterchamps truck had both plastic and hard ano aluminum caps. All early 10T kits used Aluminum. Plastic caps started with the 10T sport, but some still had aluminum since I am sure AE was just using up what was in stock at the time. I have never seen a Team Car kit with plastic caps. Not saying they don't exist, but I have yet to see one with the main kit parts bag sealed.

Yeah, Kloeber's truck has plastic rear, hard anno front... while Lett's truck had plastic on all four corners. Far as the Team Cars with plastic caps, blurb in RCCA mentioned it and Team Car instructions actually have a step for kits with plastic caps. But wide release of the plastic caps started with the sport kits and the 10T was the first model to have a Sport version so, yep, it got 'em first.
