While I was waiting for the TBG TQ10 body to make its way through the USPS black hole, I decided to slap together a Graphite basket case that has been warming the shelf for a number of years.

I decided to be a little less strict on my OEM only rule, so there will be a few parts substitutions along the way.

The basket case;

The chassis is low miles with a minor dent in the front. I repaired it with a dab of CA and some pressure.

Taking inventory.

NIP TQ tires from a German Ebay seller many moons ago. Note the prices in Deutsche Marks. The CE wheels were in the tote for some reason. I'll save those for a later build.

Nice collection of part for the build. The gold motor guard is a nice addition. The factory graphite is my favorite version on RC10.

Thanks. I got lucky with the motor guard on Ebay probably 10 years ago. I agree, the "plate" cars are really neat.

A bit of scrubbing and a peroxide soak lightened the mood for the nylon parts.

The turnbuckles are leftovers from a rere worlds build that used Tecnacraft retro pieces.

More progress today hanging plastics. The 6371 universal joint axles were re-blued and look great.

Went with a 6 hole NIP front tower as the original 4 hole was fairly beat.

I wonder who J.V. is. Did a good job packing the motor guard back in the day.

Thanks! 8)

The TQ10 I've also been assembling received the lone set of TQ wheels I had. In my search for another new or clean used set, I decided to take a look at some Imex dish wheels. I found a set of direct fit fronts, but had no luck finding direct fit rears.

The wheels are actually made by Amark Racing Products in Taiwan.

For the rears, I'm using Kyosho type wheels with hex adapters from GoMachV :D. They look the part until I find the correct wheels.

A roller now.

Trimmed. Body sides are barely deep enough to cover the chassis.
