One of the best domain names I ever registered:
RCPROAM.com
Pertaining to the game itself... it's odd that I remember playing it a lot, but can only specifically remember one place where I played it.

Certainly played it any chance I got! Mostly in the basement at friends houses. So I never really got any good at it. Never had an NES. My parents weren't "down" with the consoles.

But only a handful of kids I knew had a "legit" (if an FX10 is legit

) R/C car. Tradeoffs, I guess.

I had a Game Gear back when they came out but didn't know there was that game for it. The ones I remember having were Sonic 2, Mortal Kombat, Chakan, and Super Monico GP which I played the most. Thinking about it made me realize that the Game Gear was the only portable gaming device I ever owned. I didn't have it for all that long, but can't remember what happened to it. The Internet wasn't around yet so I couldn't have sold it on there. I'm guessing I either sold it to someone I knew, or traded it for R/C stuff. The thing had very poor battery life so I used it mainly while being tethered to a wall outlet.
I now have a Japanese Retro Freak console to play all the old games. It's capable of playing Game Gear games with an adapter which is pretty cool.

Definitely played RC Pro Am back when, Mickey Thompson's Off Road was great for NES also.
The best RC Simulator I know of, is VRC Pro, the free version is great.

The Chicken Machine was awesome!

They had one in the waiting area of Duffer's Restaurant in Wildwood NJ.

Pole Position

I had that on 7" floppy in the 80's.
Ivan Ironman Stewart was my arcade weakness.

I can hear “Prepare to qualify” in my head from
the Pole Position arcade at my local pizza joint to this day. I always did the late turn in to corners where you spin the wheel super fast and catch it at just the right time to not crash! Loved that game.

Anyone remember Night Driver for the Atari 2600?
That was my first racing game.

I'm familiar with the arcade version but have never played it. Interestingly enough, Night Driver was based off a German game called Nürburgring 1.
