Kyosho HOR Honda NSR - Old Vs. New?

Hey all. I have a line on a pretty good deal on a NIB 1992 HOR, and I have always liked these from afar, but know nothing about them. I also see I can purchase a brand new model for a bit cheaper, and it looks identical. Being a vintage guy, the '92 version interests me more, but is there really any difference?? The packaging is different in the kits, but from what I can see, the actual finished product looks identical. I have a feeling if a buy the OG, I will want to shelf it. But a new kit will probably get driven as I think the driver engineering is incredible. So really, I think I will ultimately end up with one to drive, so I guess the real question is do I bother with an OG one at all to shelf? If there is nothing really different or special about the '92 version, then I won't bother with it.
