Brought to market in 1990 and based on the Cougar aluminum chassis the Shotgun with its high riding body was Schumacher's introduction to the monster truck racing scene.

Yes, I remember laboring over this particular advert about the belt drive and hoping/wondering why more manufacturers weren't producing Traxxas hop-ups.....as an adult I realize that the "manufacturers" were more than likely thinking, "invest if you dare, but Traxxas is shite, and a flash-in-the-pan."
But still...
Just my honest no BS assessment (JMHNBSA?)

From one Serious Contender to another... my recent Vintage Bash race truck.
Sadly, a recycled body, so no chance at such an old-skool bright paint job.

If I had one, I would use Remington sponsor decals and give it number 870.

Schumacher was a rare animal in my neck of the woods, special order stuff. Comically, I don't even remember any of the local hobby shops carrying Traxxas cars or parts back in the day... JMHNBSA2

Tough call... keep the paint as is, a reflection of the time, or strip it and go Ad Art... hmmmmmm....
Guurgled to see if anyone was reproducing the Shotgun body and ran across this....
I found the date... Feb. 27th, 2019... very peculiar since I just made the post yesterday!

Trust Google to get everything completely wrong....
At least, they had the good sense to mention my Daytona project.....

Same here. My Top Cat represented 100% of the Schumacher contingent at my local track.

My terrible driving probabIy cost them a lot of sales.
I used to order from "Cats West" and later "Schumacher USA" somewhere in Florida. There was nothing available locally.
