The Panda Danny Thompson electric stadium truck, released in 1989, was manufactured by Vericom and imported from Tiawan by Global Hobby Distributors. This stadium truck model was based on the Panda buggy introduced in 1987 and featured the same ABS plastic construction with tub style chassis supporting a lower a-arm fixed upper link independent front suspension with coilover friction shocks and z-bend steering links connected to a servo saver equipped replaceable steering servo. Rear suspension was a centrally pivoting live rear axle with integrated TS540S motor and bevel gear transmission suspended by a pair of coilover friction shocks. The stadium truck however did not come with a preinstalled PCB as the Panda did, instead used a replaceable servo actuated 3-step mechanical speed controller with BEC. The battery was bottom loading and mounted transversely in the chassis. The truck shipped with replaceable rubber tires, truck style wheels and oilite bushings, less radio equipment:

Also pictured was the original 1987 Panda buggy, 1988 electric stocker, and the more race oriented 1989 Cylcone, a copy of the Mugen Manx buggy (also made by Vericom), with aluminum lower arms/adjustable camber links, aluminum oil-filled adjustable coilover shocks, aluminum 3-piece 1.5 wheels and aluminum nerf bars:

Always liked this ad, with the stadium truck flying across the page, it was very cool 8)

We had the electric one. I could never find a body in the last 20 years or I would have built one. I do have the blue bumper and roll cage with number plate. Such good memories.

That advertisement confirms my knowledge of Panda Kits existing. Thank you!
