Technically, it's the medium chassis in the jr series. Let me explain

jrx2 - short graphite chassis (curved edge near the front...20 degree kick)
jrx pro & jrxt - medium graphite chassis (straight edges all around...30 degree kick)
junior 2 & junior t - medium wide composite chassis (same holes as the medium graphite chassis)
jrx pro SE - long narrow composite chassis, but uses the shorter set of rear mounting holes
lxt - long narrow composite chassis, but uses the longer set of of rear mounting holes

hope this helps...rather than confuses...

Highwayracer (or anyone else),

Can you tell me which chassis I have? I know what they are "supposed" to be, but I want to check.....

Thanks!

the complete car is a Junior Two or Junior T chassis and the bottom one is a Jrx pro se or LXT truck chassis. If you want to get ride of the striped pro chassis I would be very interested let me know Rick.

oldskool,

Rick is correct, in the first picture, the top chassis is the junior 2/t chassis. The one on the bottom is the pro SE / LXT chassis (you can see the second set of mounting holes for the longer wheelbase). Both chassis use the same top plate. The SE / LXT chassis uses a foam insert that sticks in the center section in the battery compartment.

Your second picture threw me off for a second. I was seeing an SE type chassis with the 5 link holes...until I noticed that you just placed the chassis on top of the other car

Are the Pro SE chassis hard to find? Mine was sold to me as a Junior 2 chassis.

This is going to sound like a strange answer but:

1. When you aren't looking for one, they are everywhere.
2. When you are looking for one, they can never be found.

If I'm not mistaken, the junior 2/t was still sold after the SE / LXT had been discontinued. In theory, the SE / LXT should be harder to find.

I've seen people mis label so many things on ebay. Not everyone is as obsessed as us

Ah, isn't that always the case!

I have a separate Losi question. Exactly how different are the JRx2/Pro/ProSE/Junior2?

Basically, will parts interchange like an early gold tub will interchange with a 90s graphite?

Is a junior 2 basically a SE with plastic shock towers, a slightly different chassis, and a non-slipper trans for example?

Thanks!

That is not an easy question to answer in terms of all the little differences. Anthony put together a nice thread of pics with a lot of differences in the parts. For the most part, pretty much all of the parts are interchangable up to the Pro SE/LXT days meaning they are all based off the same chassis, ie. wanna put a hydra-drive on an X2.... just need to replace the top shaft, trans was the same.

hello oldskool,

I'm going to answer your question the best I can...I'll break it down by section:

Chassis:
jrx2 - short graphite chassis (curved edge near the front...20 degree kick)
jrx pro & jrxt - medium graphite chassis (straight edges all around...30 degree kick)
junior 2 & junior t - medium wide composite chassis (same holes as the medium graphite chassis)
jrx pro SE - long narrow composite chassis, but uses the shorter set of rear mounting holes
lxt - long narrow composite chassis, but uses the longer set of of rear mounting holes

Front bulkhead:
Same for all models but there were 3 versions:
jrx2 molded with lower lip
jrx2 molded without lower lip
team losi molded

Front arms:
Standard arms - were used on the jrx2, jrx2, jrx pro, jrxt junior 2, junior t
Swept composite arms - pro SE
Long composite arms - LXT

Front spindle block and carrier:
Standard - were used on jrx2, jrx2, jrx pro, jrxt junior 2, junior t, pro SE
Composite - LXT

Front Axles:
Same for all models but the design changed with the introduction of the pro. Older versions were solid while the newer versions had a set screw to hold the king pin.

Front shock tower:
Short Graphite - jrx2
Long Graphite - jrxt, jrx pro
Medium Angled Graphite - pro SE
Long Angle Graphite (connected at the top) - LXT
Plastic Composite with built in upper shock mount bushing - junior 2, junior t

Bellcrank:
Black with built in servo saver (flexible) - jrx2
White with built in servo saver (flexible) - jrxt...supose to be heavy duty
Red solid (no flex) - jrx pro, pro SE, LXT...I think the junior 2 & t had there as well...but am not 100% sure

Battery Cup:
Box - jrx2, jrxt
Hinge with TEAM LOSI - jrx pro, pro SE, LXT, junior 2, junior t

Rear bulkhead:
Same for all but redesigned

Rear shock tower:
Short Graphite used with 5 link - jrx2, jrxt
Long Graphite for jrx pro
Long Graphite for pro SE
Extra Long Graphite for LXT
Plastic Composite with built in upper shock mount bushing - junior 2, junior t

Rear Arms:
5 link - jrx2, jrxt
H-Arm - jrx pro, pro SE, junior 2, junior t
Extra Long Composite H Arm - LXT

Side Bulkhead:
5 link - jrx2, jrxt
NOTE: Can be used on junior 2, junior t chassis

Rear Hubs:
5 link design - jrx2, jrxt
H-Arm design - jrx pro, pro SE, junior 2, junior t, LXT

Rear Axles:
Same for all

Rear Sliders:
Standard Gray - jrx2, jrxt, pro SE, junior 2, junior t
Long Gray - LXT
Dog bones - Used for Double X transmission (2 sizes)

Rear Pivot:
Standard square- used with 5 link
Rounded with numbers 1,2,3,4 - jrx pro, pro SE, junior 2, junior t, LXT

Transmission:
6 gear standard - jrx2, jrxt jrx pro, pro SE, junior 2, junior t, LXT
Double X - Can be fitted on all but came on later versions of the lxt (2.6:1). Not sure if this was also the case for the pro SE (2.19:1).

Spur Gear:
jrx2 - Gray 86
jrxt - Orange 90 profiled
jrx pro - Red 86 profiled
pro SE - Red 86 profiled for slipper (not 100% sure...possibily green 88 profiled)
LXT - Orange 90 profiled for slipper
junior 2 & junior t - 32 pitch gray.....I don't remember the number of teeth...probably 54

Slipper:
None - jrx2, jrxt jrx pro, junior 2, junior t
With - pro SE, LXT

Hope this helps...

highwayracer

Nice breakdown. There were of course some variations on parts within the parts groups(the bellcranks have the most variations so far).
The one category you missed is the motor plates.
There were several:
no logo, no cutout, on the earliest x2
JRX-2 logo, no cutout, on the x2/xt
JRX-2 logo, front cutout on later x2/xt and maybe some pro?
team losi performance logo, with cutout, all others
team losi performance logo, with cutout, dark anodized, on later juniors and ? pro-se/lxt
team losi performance logo, with cutout, Purple anodized(mysterious origins?losi vs aftermarket ano job)
