T4 shock question

So, I got a nice t4 that was run on road from what I could tell. Been sourcing some decent stuff to get it into “truck” form again. So, it came with the stock shocks. Not bad units, but I was hoping to add some newer big bores possibly. I could not find the factory team v2 shocks. Did a little searching to see what parts are “compatible” with the t4. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I would post photo’s, but every time I try to select a photo from my IPad it says “file to large” did something change. Using the”attachments” tab below, and selecting add files. Am I required to use a hosting site now.

You’re probably going to have to cut down your pic sizes. Also make sure they are taken wide not tall so they post in the correct orientation. Then place them inline within your text how you see fit.

3MB is max photo size so your file needs to be resized. I have a photo resizer app on my phone it works great.

The blue arms will go. Going to install the new carbon arms, but the shocks are kind of a stumper right now. May ditch the blue ball cups as well. See how this evolves.

Pretty much all of the short course truck shocks will be around the same length as the T4 shocks.

The 12mm big bores look to be a leprechaun right now. Will the kashima shocks work? I guess, a lot of this is still very new. Just got back into the hobby, so, a lot has changed. A lot of things are interchangeable now a days, but I don’t want to spend a 100$ on shocks to find out they don’t work. So, yes, I’m ashamedly asking for a little hand holding on this one. Thanks in advance.

Well, that has floated too, guess I’m looking for more of the factory team bling. I have some blue caps for the originals, maybe get some blue limit collers and spring cups. Just looking for some options I guess.

Since shocks are so easy to change it's easy enough to leave them until last.

This page has a link to how to convert the t4 to big bore shocks

I'd put big bore springs on those.

Some of the Hot Racing bleeder caps would be nice as well, but they are getting hard to find.

So the springs are actually what makes the newer shocks “big bore”? Don’t they have larger bodies for more fluid? So if I keep the stock bodies, they will probably need a rebuild. Do they take standardized rc10t rebuild o rings? What about the o ring that seals the shock caps?

No. Big bore shocks are actually bigger.

But using that adapter and big bore cups allows you to use the larger springs. V1 threaded shocks are actually known for having rubbing issues with standard springs and the big bore springs cures that.

On top of that, it looks better.

There are rebuild kits on Ebay that fit V1 shocks. They are ~$6-7 and have both sizes.

I noticed the rubbing on the GT I did a rebuild on. Thanks for the tips.
