RC10 painted bodies

Post by JosephS »

My google skills aren't turning up any picture results for the team associated painted bodies
6160p
6160x
6184p
6184x
6186p
6186x

Can someone point me to where pictures are? I'm curious as to what they looked like.

6160 is the Protech body. The other numbers are wings.

They most likely looked like Rod's early Edinger in the 25 year thread. His is multiple shades of blue, but they were done in different colors.

I didn’t come up with much. Just a single wing.

The part numbers are interesting tho, I don’t know if you have the descriptions to go with your numbers so just in case…

I picked up a manual that appears to be a 84-85 along with a catalog.

I am curious what is meant by custom painted. Having solid color bodies and wings would make sense. I was a bit surprised to see a black wing.

That makes it seem like there just couldn't have been that many made. That's astounding to hear that was a hand painted product made by a single person.

Really no different than Andy. He would mask everything, shoot one color all the way down the line, peel masks, and go down the line with the next color. Bulk bodies aren’t as bad as you’d think so long as many colors are the same across them.
