I have recently acquired this vintage GM HEL 4000 Universe ESC. I know that this exact same speedo appeared on here several years ago.
The seller (maybe a member here as well) sent the ESC with a copy of the German manual. I still can't properly test it as I don't even know whether it is functioning properly or not.
I am also very puzzle by the double signal leads, which I suspect that the second one (with the yellow shunt installed) is for some sort of functions when connected to the 3rd channel?
The keypads are responding but I don't even know how to pair it with my Futaba receiver when I power it up.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

I can’t help you..but that’s a cool looking ESC! Have you tried translating the German manual?

Yes, I am trying.

But there is no mention of why it as two signal leads......

@Justhandgun this is the best I can do.... sadly, my GM Catalog from 1997 has the 3000, rather than the 4000.... but some of the information might be helpful.

Looks like the second one plugs into the traction controller.

Thanks guy! I may try to see if I can get it to work during the weekend when I have a bit more time.

Managed to get it to run. Apparently the 'alarm' from the instruction is made by the motor whining (yes, after you connect it), similar to some of the modern esc (Castle). This ESC is really one of a kind, probably very similar to the Tekin 410K. I need to explore more of it's functions, especially the traction control.
