I was cleaning out all my old browser bookmarks today and found a link to the Parma/PSE site I'd been saving to order up some OG Predator/Predator Lynx kingpins. I had visions of ordering up 6-7 sets until I found out...although the site is still up....they've closed up shop! Sad to see them go. I read up in some other message boards and it looks like they closed a while back. Got a lot of fond memories of Parma from running Associated 12e's bitd. Wound up finding 1 set on ebay that wasn't marked up too high..thankfully. Always looking for others as spares if anybody hears of anything. Other than that.....thought I'd post this thread if anybody was interested in posting some good memories of Parma from the past.

Last I heard much was that they were closed for covid and just kinda never reopened.

If you don't need the threaded bushing, use kingpins for a Bolink/RJ Speed Legends car.

Dang, I've been meaning to contact them about their old stretched puller bodies. I've always been under the impression that they'd dust off the mold if you bought a certain amount. I only need one or two but the demand is so high, you'd quickly make your investment back several times over by selling off the rest. They have to know this, as It's been that way for years. It makes you wonder why they've never wanted to capitalize on it themselves.

Thanks Juice. Yeah, I saw those RJ's from amain too...nice option and pretty much all that's left for replacements now. Unfortunately that threaded insert is what I really needed too as it sits the pin into the crossbar on the Predator/Lynx. What really sucks is the pins are hardened steel but the inserts are aluminum...so I've got good kingpins but cracked inserts Be nice to find somebody that could turn a few sets of those inserts out of steel instead....might be a good market for that...but I imagine nowadays it'd probably just be me buying 'em

The Parma bushings on mine are steel.

However, I might have a workable solution for you.

All you really need is a 4mm OD locator that fits the 5-40 threaded kingpins, correct? Then you could use two 5-40 nuts, like Bolink and RJ cars.

These Tamiya bushings have the correct 4mm OD and the ID is slightly smaller than 5/40. Being soft brass, they should be easy to tap (use shock pliers to hold them). Then cut them down to the desired length.

In my mind, this should be stronger than the normal bushings, as the larger 5-40 nuts would handle all the loads.

Good to hear! Can't wait to get the Parma set I ordered even more now as steel would be great! Just wish they hadn't closed up shop. All the CC sets I've ever had, the bushing was aluminum and cracked easy. I'm really liking that advice with RJ's + nut or maybe even an added washer too to make up the difference. Much appreciated!

I just randomly happened upon Parma's site which now contains some promising news.
