Hi everyone. I trash picked a couple boxes of RC stuff. One box had a gold pan rc10 with all kinds of extra stuff. Other boxes had plane and boat parts in them. All paperwork and receipts ranged from 83 to 89. Anyhow, i have never owned a remote control anything that didnt come from toys-r-us or radio shack. Hoping i can have some fun with this car, but need some direction to get it to a useable state.

Very cool find! I've run much worse than that. Electronics are probably the first thing you'll be working on. At least needing a battery and charger.

Welcome aboard! You have at least 1 world class track in Ohio if you ever decide to race. I forget the name, something like "CRRCC", an hour or so East of Cincy.

Unfortunately, the only track i could find in my city is for 1/8 cars. There are a couple towards detroit that look cool.
I would feel like a fool showing up at a racetrack as an amateur with a 30 year old car.

You would be very welcome at any track with that car and electronics gear! :) That is a time capsule! Magnum radio, Novak, dyed nylon parts....

1/8 tracks tend to be a bit extreme for vintage cars. Sounds like you are up around Cleveland, so the Cincy track I mentioned would be quite the haul. Personally, I just run on my own home track, so while I AM a fool with old vintage cars, no one seems to mind.
