I planed on doing a simple rebuild with a new engine and modern electronics. This is my second r/c from when I was 17 so it was in storage since about 2000. I bought it as a new roller off a neighbor kid. I put my Traxxas Pro .15 in it that I took from my Nitro Rustler at the time. A few months later my grandfather spoiled me and bought me a O.S. .12 CV-X that I put a MIP 4-n-1 clutch, backing plate and a CVEC pipe on and used a bump box. I ran it on Trinity 25% nitro and everything was great until I had a runaway and it hit a curb and telephone pole at full tilt. There was carnage to put it mildly. Let's just say the engine and tank were found separate from the car and the chassis was a taco. I fixed it and eventually put the Traxxas back in but I switched to electric with my XXX-T so the GT went into storage.
This simple rebuild snowballed when I found a crack in the rear bulkhead and figured I'd quickly design something and print it. Well you can see how that went.
