I picked up this gold pan earlier in the year. I got some old school proline wheels with it and the tires are wearing out quickly. I need to find a commonly available tire/wheel combo for dirt. Which wheels/tires do you all run for playing around?

These are JC Racing wheels, with modern 2.2 tires. With a wide arm car, they look correct. Just be careful to note whether the fronts are narrow or wide. The narrow looks right but tire selection is limited.

These are JConcepts RC10 wheels and tires. They are 1.7 rear and 1.9 front. IMHO, they look better on a short arm car.

These are JConcepts B2 fronts and Traxxas 1/16 E-Revo rears (with Factory Works hexes) and modern 2.2 tires. Alternatively, you can use the B2 rear wheels if you convert the rear axles to 3/16.

Where is the best place to get these tires/wheels?

The JC Racing wheels come directly from them. They are in Europe but ship quickly. The shipping and exchange rates kinda suck (especially with PayPal).

I probably bought the JConcepts and Traxxas wheels from Amain but are available all over the place. The Factory Works hexes can be purchased from Ebay or directly from Jeff here (only needed with the Traxxas rear wheels).

Most of those tires are Schumacher. Some are JConcepts or Traxxas. Probably purchased from Amain as well and also available through multiple places. If buying Schumacher tires, just note that the inserts are separate.

Also, there is a decent chance that there are tires available that will fit your current wheels. With all the re-re's on the market, I suspect that something is usable.

You'd just need to get your old tires off and get some measurements. I like the oven method. For nylon wheels, I then soak them in acetone to remove residual material.
