Not quite ready to kickoff this project yet, but getting closer. This B stamp chassis has some issues so it's the right participant for this project since there will be a little chassis trimming needing to be done.

I think this graphite chassis is destined to become a structural donor for this build. It has several issues, one which is reasonably obvious.

Not sure if this is any help but it worked for me...

At one point I made a thin CF spacer/adapter to mount a new style trans to a 6 gear chassis.
With this adapter no additional holes needed to be drilled.

Second pic shows a B6 style trans on my graphite Houge RC10. I really did not want to drill this chassis.

Interesting! I was planning to pocket this graphite chassis with a template and my Dremel like I did for my Frankenbuggy build.

The project has inched forward!

I used Chuck's excellent template and modified the donor tail section. The gearbox bolts up nicely.

Actually, scratch that. I already know it's going to be a buggy. I've been hanging onto this ratty body for it.

The top one is actually just "Mike" not sure why google translate is saying microphone

Google Translate has changed what it translates to several times since I first got the body shell. It did momentarily say Mike but then changed to microphone.

Haven't paid attention to this build in a while but made the discovery that the lower motor screw wasn't accessible. Time for a new chassis hole. I wonder if it will get a steering servo hole later....

My patented servo hole dots can also be used as dust covers for existing holes!

Awesome build ! I really like seeing experiments and innovation.

Making some progress on this build. Definitely not a beauty queen. But it is going to be a strong runner. Decided to go with a 10T nose plate and a spare 3Dprinted front arm mount leftover from my Detroit buggy build. RPM arms and a trimmed shock towers (top was split) are added. An old set of aluminum bell ranks added to after a rusty bearing was freed up with some oil. It now moves well without being notchy.

Body was trimmed up to stop short of the shock tower.

The position of the spur gear prevents me from using standard RC10 rear suspension arms. The right rear arm would contact the gear, even in the long wheelbase aft position. So I modified my previous arm design for my electric converted RC10GT that had the same issue (because of the large spur gear it uses). Problem solved.
I also added in some bent nose tubes. For the use this beast will see, it's going to need nose tube support.

Added stop limiters and changed oil in a set of shocks that were never going to get used it they didn't get used here. I have no idea who made them but they seem smooth. But they are only single o-ring seal, so probably destined to be leakers. The seal is changed from outside the oil chamber, so that's kind of a plus.

Dog bones and turnbuckles finish the rear.

I feel like I should add a kydex skid plate to the rear. Not to protect the beautiful underside of the chassis, but to protect the heads of those non-countersunk screws from getting worn down by hard landings on pavement.

Got a little bit of a packaging problem to work out. My ESC is a little bigger than I thought it would be. I'll probably just need to move the battery a little towards the back.
