Shipping costs in Canada

I located some discontinued parts I want in a Mississauga, ON store. They are small enough to fit in a flat envelope and would weigh similar to a greeting card. Shipping to me in US was quoted as $45 which is triple the cost of the parts. For comparison, I put in an Alberta mailing address. Shipping was still $35. Wow. Do Canadians really see those high shipping prices within country? Maybe it's just this one store, or maybe not.
Oh, and is anyone here in Mississauga?

I’ve purchased from that store before- weird process lol. I always wanted to go there as it seems to have been an absolutely enormous store back in the day. Sorry I can’t help but I’m excited to hear if anyone has been there

There have been several times that I declined to purchase items from Canada because of insane shipping costs.
Ultimately, it was cheaper to pay higher prices from somewhere with more reasonable shipping rates.
Being in the US, it's sad that I can get items cheaper and faster from the UK than Canada.

Does the store have a name close to Big Boy toy?
I was looking at the screws I need for some front suspension arms and they wanted $32 for shipping.
Emailed them and they told me to text the support number when I do and they will put 6 screws and nuts in an envelope for $10 shipping.
Edit: I do plan on buying the screws, just need to find the time to sit and do it this week.

That's the store. Their warehouse just confirmed though that they actually don't have any stock (vs 3 sets) on ASC 9608 axle washers. They also insisted the $45 shipping quote was the best they could do. For in country, they have free shipping for $75 and more orders, but not for out of country. They do have a good deal on 3 sets of ASC 9588 front wheels but the US shipping charges are killer.

Ahh not the place I was thinking of. Udisco was the one I used before. You had to send them a list like mail order days and they would process it and bill you for the total including shipping without telling you how much the shipping was. Weird place.
