OAKLEY display solution

I have been looking for a safer way to store and display a few of my builds and have had a sneaky search for Oakley display cabinets going on in the background for a while now. We have three young kids, two of which are under 5 so they do tend to play with my RC cars like ''toys'' when they get their hands on them

Rach wanted me to tidy my stuff up a little so was fully on board with me splashing out, so all good on that front too

A few months ago one popped up at the right price - in fact it was a bargain and i have always wanted to get my hands on a double-wide - and once I had worked out how to collect it I picked it up and drove it home.

Next I need to clear a bit of room in my mancave above my garage and then haul it up the stairs, but for now a quick mock-up in the garage itself by chucking random builds in tells me that it will just about display 10 cars, plus some other nice bits and bobs dotted around them. I will probably switch the cars out a bit, have a SWB CAT and a CAT XL on one shelf along with a spattering of Schumacher motors, some vintage ESC's and so on..... couple of Yokomo shelves.... themed loosely by manufacturer.

There is also room on top for my Shinwa Rolling Road and a car poised on there, and i think that might look quite effective. The storage space at the bottom is actually pretty huge, so that can house more cars, part-builds and the rest of my electronics collection etc....

Overall, pretty pleased with it. It looks great when lit up.

I also have quite a few pairs of vintage Oakley sunnies (including the 1991 splatter frame Mumbo Sweeps I wore during the 1991 race season - so technically RC topical!) so i might try to squeeze those in there too somewhere 8)

Having a great display has a benefit..it can force one to narrow down your favorite ten buggies.

This is true.... although I plan to sit the Rolling Road on the top with an 11th sat on it 8)

That’s a great looking case, did it come with all the lights in it?

Yes, all of the lighting is built into these. Pretty good fit for off-road cars, even with my fairly extended wings.

Now I'm on the hunt for one, thanks for the idea!
