RC10 "Could have been" in RPM Style

Post by LusBus »

Hello Friends of the RC10

First pics of a little project: RC10 how it "could have been" back then. Front nose plate and bulkhead from the RC10T with longer arms. Geometry similar to RPM, milled by hand from white polyamide.
Back end will be with hex wheel adapters, and a bit longer arms than the original ones (this is possible because the wheels have less offset.)

Greetings from Switzerland.

That looks like nice detailed work there. I would be interested in seeing how it looks with wheels and in almost running form. Will you run it too?

Did you make the rear arms longer, as in the same length as the RPM 91 worlds arms ?
Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.
Hey Cru ! Go balls out 8)

The shown arms are original length. I don't know the length of the RPM rear arms. I will add 7.5mm. With original rear A-arm-mounts and original hub carriers the total width will stay the same as original when using modern wheels with hex.

Slowly moving on...

(Meanwhile starting the RC10"Basher" project https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=47249)

Here is the "could have been":

Have a look at the motor by the way. I found that heli-outrunners from 450-size-models (like Align's T-Rex) are ideal for the RC10. Very lightweight and powerfull! Together with the LiPo-batteries (lightweight compared to NiCD too) the center of gravity stays more or less where it used to be with NiCD and brushed 540-Motor. But with a lighter car, which means longer runtimes an less wear or broken parts.
