Like many others, I have a good sized stash of retail packaged OEM parts. Unfortunately, they're all in a box right now and I forget what all I have sometimes. Might be a case of CRS, certainly not an indication of having to much inventory. I'm considering hanging a sheet of pegboard like hobby stores so I can arrange and see everything but maybe there are some more clever, smaller organization methods already being done. Does anyone have a good organization method?

This inquiry interests me too. I went with the 8' x 4' sheet pegboard inventory method but quickly ran out of space. And don't have the wall space to hang more sheets so parts started piling up in boxes. Therefore, I need to come up with a new organized inventory system as well.

After filling up a 8x4' pegboard your looking for inventory control, not organization. Boxes by by part numbers and a spreadsheet to might be a way track it.

Send any first Gen RC10 compatible parts to me, it will make room for future purchases.

I recently did a massive re-organization...

For years I thought I would do the peg-board system, but I just have too much stuff.

I went with boxes, but carefully labeled and stored:
- I labeled by brand/manufacturer for parts I do not have a ton of (i.e. Durango, Kyosho).
- I labeled by brand and specific model for those I have a moderate amount of (i.e. Losi JRX-2, Traxxas Slash).
- And I labeled down to the specific areas of a specific model for those I have a lot of (i.e. RC10 suspension, RC10 transmission).

Then I have separate boxes for wheels and tires labeled by size (i.e. Stadium Truck, Monster Truck, 1/8 Buggy. 1/10 buggy).

it may matter where you are forgetting your parts. Are you forgetting these parts when you are buying or when you are building?
I have way less then most collections, but i was still forgetting stuff I had or didn't have.

I started making boxes for each family of parts. A boxes for

• b5/b6/t6 box
• other xray/traxxas/tamiya/associated pan cars
• b4/t4.1.2.3
• rc10 parts common to the classic/worlds/10t/10t2
• shocks

for nip that has been more manageable.

I have my NIB stash on an excel spreadsheet.
It is by part number.

In the closet, I have them in boxes by number as well.
Associated did a pretty good job of keeping the item numbers clumped by area of the car, 61XX - body, 62XX - Front suspension, 63xx - Chassis and rear suspension, etc.

So it is pretty easy to go to a box and look for my part.
The key is to keep inventory on spreadsheet and in cases synced.

Also, would be interested in trading NIB parts for NIB parts in anyone else is interested.

A couple of recurring themes - spreadsheet inventory list, and send parts to juicedcoupe to 'make space'.

What I like about peg board part hanging is that everything can be seen, but that does take a lot of space.

The parts iim not planning to keep or use are for RC'18T, MGT, NTC, and Losi mini T. At some point I'll probably list them, although they probably aren't very popular vehicles on this site.
