Restored 86' Turbo Optima...this car was acquired from the owner of my local hobby shop and track from 87' era. I raced against this exact car back in those days so it was cool to acquire it from the original owner...Body was painted by "The Diamond One"

Since its the 8th, I'll be the first to post my photos for January's build of the month 2022

Here is my electric camel yellow Lamborghini Murcielago RC10DS . Equipped with Novak ESC, Reedy DS motor, Custom Lambo logo chassis, Tamiya Countach wheels and HPI body. Custom Italian flag theme number 1 decals made custom specifically for this car. Just a little heads up...there is a number 2 Lambo in the works but nitro. This DS is one of two that was sent to me in trade by my buddy. He was totally unhappy with them because the auction photos did not show that scrapes and scratches on the chassis...they were covered up with black sharpie ink. The chassis was swapped and the car cleaned up. Adapters for the front axles mounted in order to use 12mm hex wheels all around. The car was tranformed into a white Lambo that was cool looking but not to my liking. The suspension ride height was lowered, new Lambo body prepared and wheels swapped for Tamiyas Countach set. Overall i am truly happy with the outcome.

Always wanted one of these and finally I have one , This Mugen Bulldog is fitted with a Teamline Patriot RV old school relay ESC , a Peak Racing Dynasty 19T motor and still runs its 4 wheel steering using twin servo's to reduce slop , and like most of my cars the tires are worn from running .

This is my Trinity Evolution 10 box art replica that I've wanted to build since I first saw it and the magazine ad about 30 years ago. It's about as accurate as I could make it but has a few minor differences. The box art car has many small differences from a built kit, including a Losi battery cup, Tecnacraft steering tie-rods and black body posts. It has full Novak gear and a Trinity Championship mod motor and Pushed 1700 SCRC's.

The box doesn't actually show a body, so I improvised and used a Protoform Nissan P-35 from the same era.

Hot Trick ‘Trinity’ Optima.

This is a car I have been lusting after since seeing it as a 12 year old kid in a December 1986 mag article. It took me quite a while to source all of the parts required for this build, especially the elusive Trinity upgrades to the already hard to find Hot Trick conversion parts. For some reason the Trinity upper chassis piece is almost impossible to source and I eventually had to buy a complete second car to get hold of it. The build went off on a bit of a tangent as I decided to fit a set of ‘Dadmod’ home-turned alloys as a nod to my father, complete with the foams he fitted and trued back in the day. I haven’t even wanted to polish these wheels too much as I quite like the aged look of them. The car also has a very rare orange belt coarse pitch WASP belt drive conversion, Thorpe underdrive and an optional ‘Racing Clutch.’ Novak T1, Novak NER-2X receiver, Futaba 131S servo and Trinity Pure Gold motor (as per the mag article I was attempting to emulate). Just spotted the lack of plugging into the receiver on the topless shot in my thread – oh well, you get the idea. The bodyshell, which has a bit of a low-rider look to it which I absolutely love, is a McAllister Wildcat II, which has had the mother of all custom paint jobs. It was almost impossible to pick two photos for this, so please view the build thread which shows the mag car I was trying to replicate, and a load more shell and body off shots. I opted for two body-on shots for the BOTM just to showcase the total 80’s-ness of the whole thing! FTD Racing and Penn Models were my two local model shops bitd and these are original stickers which i have been saving for this very build.

This is my recently built Composite Craft Worlds RC10. It's my first RC10 buggy. I had been keeping my eyes open for a CC Worlds chassis for years. When I finally found one, it was the short version. Luckily I found this proper long chassis' shortly after. It was on a dirty, grimy car, and had epoxy on it, but it cleaned up to like new and without a scratch. Enjoy.

I don't generally like box-art builds, but that Evo got my vote. Awesome.
