So this was actually the original tub for B1.5 #5. That car became a mid motor carpet racer using a different tub. So this one has been laying around for a little while. I had started to mess around with a little while ago, but for the most part it just sat. While I was laid up recently, I got to thinking that besides the car I raced at the vonats, I haven't had a tub car to run for a little while. Late last year and all this year I raced my b2 and b3. Well it was time to change that.

Nothing really special right now. The biggest thing I did was installed an SC10 trans with a gear diff. I needed a trans and I had a SC10.3 sitting unused in the corner. Worked out pretty well.

That's about it for now.

I had an old rc10 with a gear diff SP-1 I drove once or twice. But just out in the street.

I'm throwing this together really to run at a particular track. Not race because I could never get there on a Friday night. But jwscab, my son and myself meet up there on Sundays throughout the winter to get some laps in and hangout out for 3-4 hours. It's a hard packed, wet red clay that tends to slop the cars up.... and is also hard on equipment. It's small, fast, and bad things can happen quick depending on the layout. Which is why I'm not making this one nice. Just throwing it together and running it with as much used junk (and some new pieces here and there) as I have laying around. You also have to deal with kids running rental Slashes and whatnot. They can be weapons.

I'll also try it at the outdoor dirt track we race at next year. See how it works on a looser surface with pins and ribs as opposed to slicks. It'll probably be a great carpet car with the gear diff. So if I don't like it on the dirt, I'll save it for that.

Yeah. I got an SC10.3 last year and was going to build a no prep car out of it. But I've kinda lost interest in that plan. So it's just sitting there not being used, may as well use the trans if I can make it work. The top shaft and outdrive positions were super close to the T2 so I went at it. And it saved me from shelling out money to build a T2 trans.

I was able to find some regularly priced sc10 trans parts online (outdrives and such) so I stocked up a bit. The car probably won't get used all that much so I should be good with spares for awhile.

Should be nice and tough for critters. Interested in checking out that boyertown track in the warm weather.

Yeah, I think it'll be good. I'm gonna go with the same setup as the red tub rc10 I used to run there. Be a good starting point.

The outdoor offroad track looks like it could use some work at the Boyertown shop. But it's not too far away to check out.

Ahhh yes, Traxxas Slashes and 2wd buggies, two things that should not coexist together.

If only you could find a way to turn off the buggy finder feature of the Slash things would be fine.

Very cool! Seeing these B1.5 buggy builds is really ignites the desire to add this to the list of future projects. But what's the story with that adjacent buggy with the Yokomo wheels?

That's a Kyosho/AE/Yokomo Ultima hybrid project. It's been on my bench for at least a decade.
