losi XX-4 noise

Finally replaced the belts on the XX-4 that I just got. But when XX-4 is stopping, a noise from the front of the car sounds like a "zip tie being pulled" just before the front wheels stop. The front wheels always stop after the rear wheels. I don't believe that this can possibly be right. Any help would be appreciated. I have never run the car, so I don't know what is right when the car is stopping

That sounds like the clicker assembly.

I have tried tightening and loosening the nuts that the yellow and blue arrow are pointing towards. Sometimes I just tighten or loosen the yellow arrow nut and sometimes I did the blue arrow nut. No matter what combination I do, these is "spinning" at the mesh point for part #25 and #24 long after the rear wheel have stopped. That is what is making the "pulling on a zip tie" sound. Is this just a rebuild situation or do I have to make some other adjustment?
Thanks GoMachV and jwscab for the help so far

The clicker nut is the one you show in yellow.
I suppose you could take the spring out and install a spacer to lock up the clicker but it was designed to do exactly what it is doing. Making the noise go away also makes the function of it go away as well.

What Jeff said. That clicker spring is quite weak, so you will likely have that sound even fully tight. There is a small window where braking is either too much or too little, so unless it's really impacting your driving, that's how this car sounds and works. You won't ever get full 4 wheel braking with that in place.

OK, great. If that is what is supposed to happen then I am fine with it. I just thought something must be wrong. Thank you so much

This legit, of course. But when I first read it, working in automotive, it sounds like a shop humor jokey diagnosis.....a clicking sound coming from the clicker assembly. Anyway....

Haha yeah I hear ya. It's definitely not a common feature.

Under hard acceleration my XX4 is making a slipping clack clack sound different from the clicker noise. I suspect it's the one way slipping the backwards?.... Going to disassemble the drive train this week and inspect.
I've been driving my Rally Weapon on the same track as my XX4. The Rally Weapon has the one way clicker locked. It handles very well on the track I run, but most of my track is on throttle driving. The XX4 doesn't turn as well in my opinion. I haven't figured out if it's the steering or the one way clicker making the big difference. My track is banked and high speed, the shape of a heart, very little need for a brake except on the two straights. Most RC car tracks are flat turning, and I suspect the XX4 would excel on those tracks where you're off throttle and free wheeling.
