It took me longer to build the theater than it took to build the house.
130+" screen, 7.1, 2k watts, sub plays well below 20hz and lots of acoustic damping.
The only task that was "farmed out" was the seating upholstery.
It started as an unfinished rectangular room.

Now I'm gonna hang my head and go watch my 58" tv.

Looks great Is the ceiling fiberoptic star ceiling or painted? If it's fiberoptic and you did it yourself then I know the pain that is lol. When I did mine in my theater room I think I spent at least a week of 8-9hrs per day on just running, routing, trimming each of the fiberoptic strands I dunno if I would ever do that again it was such a pain.

Awesome set-up! Puts my 27 inch RCA console to shame!

That setup is even nicer than some of the professional rooms used to master the movies you are watching.

Steve- It's a painted ceiling with UV reactive glow paint for stars. I had been to "The worlds largest mechanical planetarium"
I visited there while on a trip to the family cottage. And that was the inspiration for the ceiling.
There are 8 4' UV fluorescent tube fixtures nested behind the crown molding near the ceiling that really makes the stars "shine".

The screen is also paint, although a very special paint that easily rivals most all of the better fabric screens.
I have held samples of Screen Innovations next to it and did not change to a fabric screen.

I've just had another look at your Kyosho Mid and I think you are a master craftsman.
My dad was a craftsman as well -- and not be training but by natural talent. He could make anything from anything and was never intimidated by the size or scope of any project he was considering. Jump in with both feet and overcome the challenges, that was his motto.

Throughout his adult life, my dad had three principle hobbies: woodworking, motorcycles and RC. Those are my hobbies as well.

With an awesome home theater like yours, how do you balance your time? Do you sometimes invite friends and family over for theater night perhaps?

You might even have appreciated the fact that I modeled it first in Sketchup
But not even close to the ability you have shown for nearly photo-realistic renderings on some of your projects.

The theater hasn't seen a lot of use last year.
But before that movies with the wife, sometimes the neighbors and Super Bowl parties. The wife really enjoys sports on a big screen.
