Maxxum FF to the lineup

Post by sandkil »

So, this happened.
Not planned. Not within budget, but with a price that you cant turn down.
Wife sits as a question mark as I jump out of the sofa at quarter to nine pm and hops into the car only to come back with yet another rc car thirty minutes later.
That night in bed she starts talking of total value of the collection and the possibility to sell of some cars.....
Meanwhile I gently stroke her head.. stealthy shaking my head. no no no........

It's at moments like that when you just have to resist the urge of reaching down and quickly snaping her neck , it's hard but wives just need to be tolerated at times

Nice & super clean!! I recently picked one of these up too that just needs a light restoration. You need to post more pics with the body off...I could use some reference pics for the electronics. Such a cool car and so unique..why don’t chicks see that?! I have found the ball diff and sway bar kit for mine for some cool factory upgrades..

You guys
Went trough the car and can confirm that it is in excellent shape. Added some screws and nuts, receiver and battery.
Next up is the wheels.
Only thing that needs to be sourced is body and decals.. oh and a hatch for the gearbox and a Ultima bumper if to go box art.

Beautiful addition to the collection! Do you plan to run it at all? Or, just shelf it?

Thanks!
Nah I’m a dust collector... period!
I hope to get the FF10 out on a track. Don’t know when that is going to happen, but it’s a goal

Really cool looking buggy! Classic motor too. Wish kyosho had just used platinum shocks though. Where is the steering servo? I couldn't see it in picks.

The steering servo is located under the speed controller. Not the best linkage though.
Yes, platinum or better up, the gold shocks (they were already on the Optima Mid's at the time)

Nope. Platinums are the best shocks ever made, golds are 2nd.

It's been a while,
Just received the last bits for the chassis. Lid for the gearbox and correct nuts for the shocks.
Decals are ordered and finger on the buy button on the body.

It has been a while, but I've finally started on the paint and decals.
As the body has a scoop there's no way of applying a decal and getting it right. So I decided to paint the blue, orange and red.
The MCA decal sheet is way to big to scale, so I'll have to cut and paste..probably order some 1.0 mm stripes in red and black as well.
