834B Newbie

Always wanted one of these, having been a total Yokomo guy bitd, but i started out with an 870c and just missed out on the 834b era. I got offered this example in a trade and jumped at it.... and it arrived a couple off days ago. It looks very very tidy indeed, although i do need a new yellow battery tray if i am being super anal. Looking forward to putting my own slant on it and firing it up.

Front suspension roll is a bit curious to say the least. If there a slipper option available for these and if so does anybody have one per chance?? Any other suggested hop-ups?

There are two types of slipper but both types only limit power to the front wheels , the later Yokomo versions had a very simple slipper that replaced the rear chain sprocket and Delta did a far more elegant system that replaced the second gear in the gearbox and achieved the same thing , there's no spur gear type slipper for all 4 wheels , I did make one but it's quite involved .
The Battery trays do turn up for sale but not often and they have usually been cut down sadly , Pargu do an ally one but it's not aesthetically right in my mind .
Are you planing on running it ? The thing that I've broken that's hard to find is the front bulkhead , I can just print one but if I were running a real one I'd put a brace across the lower arm pins to protect the bulkhead .

Also check your gears , the early ones were quite weak ,had integrated plastic axles and had a greenish colour , the later ones were nylon and had steel axles .

Revolution Oval perhaps?? I haven't even looked how to remove the motor out of this car yet  Brutus would be nice though.

Great info on the gears and the slipper options..... do they come up for sale very often? Quite looking forward to getting this one running.

Both types of slipper are on eBay maybe once a year and go for silly money 💰
