RC10GT Blue Tub

Ok I’ve finally gotten myself a GT, out of the many vehicles I’ve had and still have from over the years for some reason I just never bought one. So of course my first question is what did I get ? Would you consider this to be a black tub truck, or did it possibly start out as a blue pan. As I’m sure you’ve noticed it has many aftermarket/upgrade parts on it as well. There’s so much going on here parts wise I’ve got a feeling that this particular truck may have been built from parts and hardware alone. It would also be nice to know what brand parts they are and if they are any good or not. The first and most important thing that’s getting done is an engine replacement. I was looking for something more fitting for this truck and a good friend of mine offered up a like new never run bump start Dynamite tnt .12 with a red head. I believe that’ll give it a more proper de-cluttered look.

Your truck could’ve started life as a blue pan or black tub. No real way of telling which because of the amount of aftermarket parts. And no real benefit of starting as either. But there never was a blue tub kit. The chassis and nose was only an aftermarket part. Your truck looks to be in pretty good condition. Just needs some tidying up and fresh tires.

Ended up changing out the aluminum front and rear shock towers for originals so as to fit under this beautiful box art Jconcepts original GT body painted by Andy.

Thank you, still trying to grab an original decal set off of my friend without having to hand over one of my kids. If not I’ll be picking up some from MCI. Then the thing I dread most of all….
Making holes in the body to mount it
