Decisions...... T2 be made, ongoing ;)

Post by MarkyDents »

After searching and waiting many years I finally found a nice enough and original enough T2 I wanted for my collection. Ok so do I keep the Reedy Firehawk in it or go with something else ?
Leave the Futaba esc or install a still new Novak Racer I’ve had awaiting the right platform. Get a new body ? Repop decals from MCI or just work with the original that was shot with a couple coats of candy purple pretty evenly but was never backed ?
What do you think ??

That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.

We'll, what do you plan on doing with it? If it's going to sit on a shelf, the motor is fine. It is a 27T, 24° stock class motor. It was made for ROAR stock class racing.

It is also one of the motors (several) listed in the parts list for a T2, so it is "correct" for it. The manual itself shows a DS stock motor.

While I have nothing against those Futaba esc's, it's hard to argue with putting a Novak in it.

If they wouldn't have painted the windows, I might could live with the purple. I'd probably do a reproduction body and decals.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Very much appreciate the info.
As for the body I was considering working with different backing colors to create some form of a paint scheme that’s pleasing to look at. Use black for the windows so the purple is less detectable... designs done with a combination of white, silver, chrome, and black attempting to make it look like full purple candy was purposely done from the start. Think something like that may work out ?

Realized I didn’t answer your question, this ones set for a shelf life. I did pick up a nice T3 figuring that’ll stop me from using this one but that ended up being a way too nice and complete team truck that I couldn’t risk ruining so I picked up an extremely well used standard T3 that really doesn’t care what I do to it. 8)

That Futaba ESC actually brings back memories. I was stoked to finally upgrade it to the Novak though. So for me would be tough to choose too, I'd probably go with the Novak though, maybe the Futaba for a RC10T build... Don't see many RC10T2's for sale. Nice clean truck

While looking for a couple tubs I knew I had I stumbled upon the missing link I forgot that I had purchased…….
The battery hold down for my T2, this thing was harder to get then an entire truck. Finally it’s got all its parts.

Nice truck, looks like a good base.

Looking forward to seeing your progress.
