There's a new shop not too far from my place. They have a few slot car tracks, and an indoor carpet oval..... also an outdoor dirt oval that they finished just before winter hit. A few guys I raced with back in the day race there. One of them is the race director. He also builds/designs his own cars. So I had been debating on picking up a cheap 1/10 oval car, just never got around to it.

Well, 2 weeks ago Frank (the race director) raffled off a car that he had setup and raced in the breakout class. I usually don't get involved with raffles but something made me grab 2 spots. As luck would have it, my name was pulled from the hat. So here's my new Mertz 513 1/10 oval car. Just have to install a receiver and a pinion and I'll be ready to go.

Where did the new shop open up? I haven't been back to the Lehigh Valley in more than a year, so I'm a bit out of touch with stuff there.

Right out front of Mahoning Valley Speedway. In the old farmers market.
