Starting an Optima Pro build...with help from "The Diamond One". This what i am working with, a Turbo Optima from ebay....real decent example. It had a few things i didn't notice (1) cherry LeMans 240s. cut the comm but needed nothing else...runs strong, 27,500rpm @ 7.2v zero degrees timing. (2) real decent 12t Option House torque limiting clutch. Not sure how we missed that

heres the way it came:
the Lemans after cleanup and cut. (Not using this motor on this build)....going with a 480Spa we scored on Ebay.
Lucky enough to score a new Optima Pro radio plate...its different than the rest...
steering servo mounted in back, battery moved forward, plastic instead of frp like the others.
Other than the body/undertray and radio plate are only real differences between it and other Optima cars
The car came with a nice set of Golds but will be running these shocks. The shocks, bearings, body wheels/tires will be the only new (modern) stuff on the car....everything else is vintage parts

UPDATE: we will be using the motor in pics....the 480spa came today....got railroaded! its got a 27turn stock armature in out of who knows what....this blows

Man, that is BS. Sux!

Got everything cleaned and polished up....wait'n on a screw kit

Update: screw kit finally arrived!...got all the stuff to complete it. Last build for awhile..."the diamond one" will be assisting me so he will be the one entering it in botm, not myself

One of the best looking RC buggy bodies of all time right there!
And your paint and graphics raises it to an even higher level.
This one's gonna be incredible!

Thanks Doug, David did that body....always thought that body was so cool lookn....plus the undertray on an Optima chassis is so different

I can't remember; will this one see maybe a little careful track time (after the botm photos of course)?

Thanks, unfortunately due to huge change in employment recently (or lack of☹) this will be my last build for a awhile....me and David acquired all the stuff for this before the crap hit the fan for us both (we r twins too!)....at least going out with a real classic!
