Alternative parts

Post by GarySmith »

Based upon one of the last posts regarding CVD's, it made me thing, are there alternative parts for different models.

I know there are certain parts that I can swap to/from my RC10T to the RC10GT.

Has anyone made a comparability list of possible substitution parts (or upgrade parts) when the part code isn't available anymore?

Man would that be helpful. I’ve kind of been searching for something like that. Seems like you just have to search out specifics here and there. The hard part is when you find a thread that describes exactly what you need, they link to the part without otherwise describing it, and it’s now a dead link. So you have no real idea and just keep hunting. Lol.

I'm finding that problem as well (not just here but other blogs/forums with dead links in them).

I found the full STL for the RC10T2. I have yet to print any yet (my spool of ABS just arrived last night). I need a new front end for one the other RC10T I have at two pieces are missing and one a-arm is cracked.

I don't mind spending the money for reasonably priced parts. I would rather support the community, but barring that and lack of parts there isn't much more I can do.

What you will find is that some things will directly interchange while others will work with other changes or modifications.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.
