Team Magic, Vampire !?!?

Okay here’s a random one. I bought this car because I’ve always liked the looks of the gas on road cars growing up. Always wanted a Serpent Impact even though I would’ve just destroyed it tearing up and down the street. This was on ebay for super cheap price and I figured why not. I just spent all night putting this together and what a pain it was. I don’t know if all cars this style are this complex but there’s so much more to this car than a stadium truck.
Anyone ever heard of this thing before?
Here’s a couple build pictures and how I’m leaving off for the night/morning.

I bought and built one of the 2wd kits, and then bought to keep one of the 4wd kits. They are more complex than some, mainly in the suspension, but mostly similar to other racers. The floating body mount, bulky 1/8 scale style drivetrain, centax style clutch, quick change wheels, etc are all common for a 235 car
The 1/8 scale version was sold as a GS Sonic. Looks to be around the 2000 era.

Haha not surprising you have built one. I did the opposite, built the 4wd keeping the 2wd for no real reason. I actually bought the 2wd, then a couple days later noticed he had the 4wd version for sale. Otherwise I wouldn’t have even bought the 2wd model.

Pretty wild cars to drive, the centax clutch is like an on/off switch, big tires and 4wd with aero downforce

This thing is wicked...a monster on wheels.
I love it.
its like a smaller version of the 1:8 scale on road cars with all the goodies and advancements.
Todd...this makes me want to start my NTC3 and finsih the Kyosho....
Outstanding Job! cant wait to see what body you top this off with.

I have a question for you Jeff. Since you built your 2wd and shelved the 4wd, did your kit have a differential or just a straight axle?
The instructions show both, and being a completely unfamiliar car I was searching everywhere building the 4wd until I noticed the “not included in the kit”.
My 4wd included the “rear axle” only
I opened up the 2wd kit to see if the air filter was as decomposed as my other kit, it was, and I noticed the 2wd kit included the “differential” only
Here’s the finished car minus body. I crudely cut out a filter from some packing foam. Also not going to put a pressure fitting in the pipe as I doubt I’ll keep this pipe on here forever. If anyone has noticed the zip-tie servo mounting. That’s what the instructions called for.......

The 2wd came with a ball diff- and it will blow your mind. It’s huge and really heady duty. Interestingly they don’t give you diff balls- they give you a thrust bearing and you have to remove the balls from the cage to use them as diff balls. The diff rings are the thrust washers from the thrust bearing. It was a good way to go, but they don’t tell you this. You have to figure it out.
The 2wd is done the old school way- minus the diff anyway. Everything else is the same they just don’t include the front drive part bags. Your front axles will still accept dog ones, etc.
Oh, and yes my air filter was gone too- but they are 20 years old so it’s forgivable.
