10LSO Resto (Video added)

Can anyone help me date this 10L? We've been talking for a while, but I can't seem to seal the deal...

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Seriously, if I could get a little more precise info I'd appreciate it. I bought it from Jake (Seabass) and it has sat just like this for many years. it has a body, but my cousins are doing a restoration on it at the moment even though I'm going to replace it. They have been working with a complicated, but effective system that involves automotive clear coat and wet sanding that produces great results on both old and new bodies. It's a clean car, but the one I raced for years was still during the years when it was all the big white block stuff and I'm foggy on the timeline of all the different transitions they've made.

I'm also wanting to run this. My daughter's high school has a huge set of tennis courts and the surface is really nice. I can even take my blower and blow the dust away on days I want to run there. Well, until they ask me who I am and what the hell I'm doing...(again! ) I would think that Radials would be better than foam for this, but have no idea about compounds and such for running it like this. Any help would be appreciated. The old Bolink plastic rims are fine. I don't need anything fancy.

You want to date her, but you have your cousins focusing on her body?

Your daughter's school doesn't like you blowing all over their tennis courts?

What sort of Netflix series life are you living, Thumbster????

Watching for pan car pointers for my own 10L and the Daytonas, and because I, too, like to watch.

Looks like a good car to bring back to life. Fortunately, I don't see gobs of super glue on it!

Weren't the rubber capped foam tires called radials? I'm not finding any available anywhere. I never had any, but vaguely remember them. Our track was all foam.

Look for capped tires.

BSR is the only one coming to mind at the moment.

I saw some BSR capped tires, but they all looked to be F1 with hex rims. I will look some more. I didn't spend too much time. I was just surprised that a quick search didn't produce much. I'm sure they're out there.

They're around, got these in a box of tires a few years ago.

I was lucky enough to pick up a box full of what I thought was capped tyres when I got my 10L narrow racer. However, as it had been set up as a velodrome car, and had a LOT of trued staggered rears, I realise they must be foams. Will still come in handy both for the 10L and the Daytonas, but sadly not the capped I was looking for. Confused me, as they looked hard like rubber...

I could see Benji's 10L resto being a BOTY contender!

I highly doubt that! Thanks for the input everyone. I think I have a lead on a set. I've never used them so they may not work any better than foams. I've never had much luck running pan cars anywhere other than on a treated track. They generally just spin in circles. If you throttle them slowly enough you can go straight for a while and then the first time you go to turn you take a giant chunk of foam off the tires...

Loosen up the diff and soak the Foams in some sauce.
Leave some tracks on that Court :!:
