My A&L trailing arm car

I got a car and a box full of parts from a local racer at our track. The car is A&L trailing arm car from very late 1980's or early 1990's, but he couldn't remember the exact year when he had last time raced it. The car itself is not in very good shape but pretty much complete, only few parts were missing and I already sourced them from Factory Works. It came with MIP box and he told that it has always been on the car, so I will just use that. Chassis is quite beat up and a lot of extra holes drilled so I will just put this back together with period correct parts and not even try to restore it(if I don't find a mint original chassis). I will use long front arms and team car shocks, Yokomo rear wheels with adapters(as it came with them) and team car front wheels. And if I can find decent electrics I will put those on too.

I'm not sure about the body. I have one good Protech which I could use but as the rear shock tower is higher than normal it may look funny. I found a pic on internet where rear body mount is in front of the tower so body sits quite low. I kind of like that but I'm not sure I want to cut the rear section of the body off. Can I see pictures of your A&L cars with the body on?

Any idea what body that is in the A&L ad pic...?

That's such a cool find. I would totally use the provided chassis and run it a bit before installing a new chassis. I'm sure that car is a blast!

That body looks a lot like a Viper in that pic. With the rear section cut off.

That's definitely a Viper body on the second pic.
Regarding the body post.. It could be a RC10T rear body post mounted up front and center!?

Quite a lot of cutting was needed but now the body fits just fine. I like the look even it is not really period correct. Now I just need to wait for missing parts so I can finish the build.

The body looks great Tomi and it appears to fit the chassis very well.
I'm curious about how you are attaching the back; I assume it's fixed somehow to the shock tower?
The paint work looks very Ultrahive. Really nice!

That other trailing arm system you have there also look very interesting.

That body is painted by Ultrahive, the first I got from him years ago. It’s been sitting on my self as I sold the car I bought it for.

There was a body mount included in the original A&L kit which mounts to shock tower. My part is a repro as original was missing. I haven’t mounted it yet but I’m thinking of replacing the post with welcro tape. Not sure it works but I would not want to drill a hole to the body.

I was told it is MIP system. I have never seen one like that before.

It looks like you have a few bits, it would be rad to see that MIP rig running again.
