Baja Frog

Post by romulus22 »

I’ve had both of these for many many years, but they’ve been buried in the bottom of a box so digging them out feels like they’re new to me again.

The frog was a flea market buy a friend bought that was in the bottom with a bunch of other random cars. It’s in pretty complete condition that I can tell, never owned one before. And the body I don’t even remember where it came from. No idea what manufacture it is either. It just showed up one day in the condition it is now. Never did I think to put the two together. The body fits perfect and I’ve always loved Beetles since I was a small kid. So I’m going to start this “build” in hopes I will do something with this.

The beetle body is a perfect fit and looks great on the frog.

I've never collected this style or time frame of this RC but I cant wait to see what you do with it.

Body is by Bolink. It was a lexan replacement for the sand scorcher. Sabula Tech still produces them from the original Bolink molds. One of my all time favorite bodies. Never thought about using it on a frog chassis. Looks like a great fit. Should be a fun project.

Thanks for the info on the body. I may have to think about a replacement if I mess this one up somehow.
