Hi all,

I wanted to share my slipper conversion to dual pad slipper clutch.

Since the classic Traxxas slipper already is double sided I was searching for spur gears that would fit the center bushing. Well I was not successful doing that so I decided to turn down the center bushing to the diameter of a Team Durango spur gear:

I am aware of the STRC slipper shaft to accept the associated slipper, I also have 2 of those, but I was looking for a different approach. The X-Ray spur gears center hole is too big and will require a whole new center bushing.

Let me know what you think.

The rings look a little small compared to the frictional material. But I guess there is more contact than riding on the pegs alone. Depending on the amount of torque being handled, do you think the friction pads could curl up at the edges and spin past the rests? I guess if it works it works. Nice work around!

Is that an Eagle mid? Or a Graupner Rad Expert?

Hi TRX 1-3

that is a Graupner Rad Expert Mid.

Good point with the curling. I'll keep an eye on that. The next option are the Serpent spur gears, their slipper seems smaller.

Ok as promised, here’s Franken-Slipper 2.0

Same principle, 8mm of spur bushing with a Serpent spur setup.
