I know one is belt drive and the other is shaft drive. They should)d be very different. What are your comments between both vehicles??

The belt drive car wasn't very good hence the SF got released fairly quickly after the beltdrive one had a load of option parts/mods to try and get it to work
The SF or the SF2 are great cars, or the XB4/B74.1 is a great option

What about Kyosho ZX7 and Serpent SDX4 Evo? Because I don't see people mentioned these two as far as high performance modern racer goes.
I am curious how the yz4 beli drive 4WD compare with the vintage MX 4 that was considered as the greatest buggy back In the day

The belt drive YZ4 was a fairly average car, its gearing was limited for stock and was considered a bit of a slug over here, the inertia of the belts caused the nose to drop over jumps so a good balance of throttle control was required,The YZ4SF was a big step forward and won the 4wd WC in china, the YZ4 SF2 is another leap forward in design, stronger arms, different steering geometry etc,. Yokomo normally take 2 - 3 years between new cars if they work if not a replacement comes out fairly quick
the YZ10 was the king, the competition started catching up around when the MX4 and MR4BC where released, still great cars but, well designed and put together
the new B74 and 74.1 is very good out of the box, all 4wd cars are pretty similar these days, a notable exception is the Schumacher L1 - this is still belt driven and a nice bit of kit

Do you think the superb yz10 or mr4bx able to beat the yz4 easy these days?
Frankly I am considering the following.
Fully hop up Tamiya DB02
Kyosho ZX7
Yokono YZ4SF2
Serpent SDX4 Evo
You forgot to mention the Yokomo B Max4 III, this one is pretty good as well

based on the same driver and set up of the cars the YZ4 would still be better than the older Yokomo cars due to suspension, drive train, steering etc, in my opinion the Bmax would still be better than the YZ4
I wouldn't go with the DB02 as it has drive train and handling issues, the ZX7 is getting old and there are rumours of a new model coming out, I have the SF2 and it is very good, same quality as the new Losi 4wd, have never seen a Serpent so can't comment.
if you want to go Tamiya try and pick up a DB01 RRR, they are an awesome car straight out of the box, have all the correct hop ups, geared dffs etc, unless you can find a TRF 503

Thanks for the advice! .
By looking at the layout and appearance of TRF503, it is very similar to the Yokomo MR4BX.
Both have carbon fibre chassis, and those suspension angle seems pretty close. The difference is ball diff vs gear diff.

I'm looking for a YZ4 belt car. I really just need the chassis, but am willing to buy a whole car.
