Hey guys check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Trdo8FPToCk

If you watch starting the ~9:11 mark you will see the 4WD Open race with Jim Dieter racing his Schumacher Cat. I believe his car (#1) is the same car he won the 1987 ROAR Nats with, pretty cool to have footage of this vehicle running!

This guy has a few videos of racing at the premier Chicagland tracks of the day on his channel and are worth watching, thought I'd share.

That kid had a great idea, I think I'll take a hockey stick to the track for turn marshalling.

I never get bored watching vintage RC racing. Thank you for posting this.
I was living in central Illinois at the time and racing all around the state (plus Missouri and Iowa) but never made it up to Joliet for some reason. I left Hellinois in '96.
I'm just one of the many racers who have been beaten by Jim Dieter. Jim is a talented racer, that's for certain. He's driving the SWB version on what appears to be a very slick track - not an easy car to drive under the best conditions.

Thank you for posting! I love watching the vintage off road races. There is also a youtube channel with Gene Husting vintage races on it such as various nationals, Reedy Races, etc.—they’re great to watch.
