I am doing a build from body selection backwards and I need some help choosing a chassis.
I don't have much on road experience but I recently picked up 3 nice bodies and I want to get them painted and mounted on equally attractive chassis.
I need help choosing the home for an HPI Ford GT40 body.
The other 2 bodies I picked up are a Delta Plastic Lamborghini Diablo. This will be painted red and mounted on. Losi Street Weapon once it's completed.
Second is a Lotus Elise, this is going on a very nice looking blue and carbon Tamiya TRF 416 with lots of blue aluminum. I am going to paint this white and on the "advice" of my very patient wife I am going to accent it with blue so the blue wheel nuts don't look out of place.
I have not chosen the paint scheme for the GT40 as of yet but after watching Ford v Ferrari many times I like the red and white racing scheme seen in the Daytona race but the Lamborghini is going to be red.
I also like the white Daytona car with the black and red accents and it looks like it may be fun to try and replicate but I also have a white car.
Recently I saw a all black GT40 with simple chrome rims and it really popped. I am not sure if the body has the details to pull that off tho.
So they car will be a shelfer so no race consideration but I would like a chassis that looked just as good topless as with the body on.
I have been trying a TA07 pro but my wife doesn't think I should have 2 cars with blue aluminium...
Any thoughts or ideas are welcome.
Oh yes, price... I do have a budget so nothing too crazy please.

Re: Body first build - chassis suggestions?
If you are not planning to run them (and this won’t be breaking parts that you would need to order) a couple of my favorites are the Xpress Execute sport which is around $150 and the Sakura D3 and D4 drift chassis. Really nicely optioned and lots of anodized aluminum. The downfall really is parts more than anything. On a shelf they are great. The Sakura kits go together really well. I haven’t built an Xpress since about 2000 but they were great quality back in the day.

I saw a loaded Sakura Ultimate that went the dau before I had money in my account so I have been keeping an eye out for those. The parts in pictures tended to look more pink tho, is that a trick of the light?
