The RC10 I've Always Wanted

Like many here, I have more than my fair share of vintage RC10's, but this one has been under construction for over 2 years sitting in the background waiting for the right parts and trying to decide how to paint it. I wanted this one to be more of a street buggy. I wanted something different from the wild paint jobs covered with vintage decals. I finally worked out exactly what I wanted and I think it's my best gold pan to date. Andy's arms and front bulkhead, small weave carbon fiber MIP style shock towers and trans brace, polished aluminum jelly bean wheels, Tecnacraft turnbuckles and blue anodized fasteners throughout, just to list a few things. After a bunch of trial and error, I came up with, what I think, is the closest paint match to the gold pan anodizing I've seen. I never really use the associated driver in my builds, but this one had to have it. This one is an original from an '80s kit. I cut out the windows and installed real netting. Finally, the drivers face is actually John Goodman. After installing the vintage Novak electrics and a B&R motor, I think it's finally about finished.

Looks amazing! I would add a spoiler, even a clear one would be good.

Turned out amazing, I really like the attention to detail. If I can ask, what did you use for the window netting?

I'm not sure where the netting came from. A few years back, I found it inside a kit box with some parts and manuals that I picked up with an old rc collection.

Very very nice classic presentation of an RC10. Quite vintage, just like me.
I do kind of agree with jwscab though on the wing. Probably just because I'm used to a wing.
Really like the driver figure, well done. For me they can be more challenging to paint than the body.
Definately a BOM.

Really nice clean build. 8)

I ran those proline waffles BITD and have a set on my short arm car now, a proper period tyre. Agree that it would look good with a wing.

I knew I'd catch some stuff by not running a wing on this car.

I usually prefer a wing, but I think it would ruin the street buggy vibe on this one. Great job.

Cause if you like it, then you shoulda put a wing on it
If you like it, then you shoulda put a wing on it
Don't be mad once you see that he want it
If you like it, then you shoulda put a wing on it

What did you use to paint the pan?

Looks great man. the window netting looks like itโ€™s from the hotshot. An aluminum wing will match with the rims.
